At WHSC we had a meaningful week celebrating and embracing multiculturalism and diversity. Harmony Week is more than just a celebration of cultural diversity; it is a reminder that our differences make us stronger, and that no matter where we come from, we all have a place in this community. This is a time to reflect on the incredible contributions of these cultures to society and to recognise the importance of inclusivity, respect and belonging. Beyond just recognising diversity, this week is about actively making space for each other, ensuring everyone feels welcomed, valued and accepted.
On Thursday students and staff were invited to wear their traditional dress or a splash of orange. Orange is the chosen colour to represent Harmony Week to signify social communication and meaningful conversations. At our Secondary assembly our student leaders empasised that belonging is not just a word and a feeling, it's an action. It's something we create together.
