Today we commemorated ANZAC Day with an assembly held to honour and remember the brave Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who have served and died in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. It was an emotional ceremony as staff and students were invited to pay tribute to family members and / or friends who have served, or are currently serving in the Australian or New Zealand defence forces by presenting candles and laying wreaths.
We'd like to sincerely thank Ex-Special Forces Commando Tim Thomas and Australian Air Force Group Captain John Young for their heartfelt speeches about their experiences in the armed forces.
We'd also like to thank our special guests for attending: Terri Butler MP; Jordan Ayton (on behalf of Joe Kelly MP); Rachael Codd (on behalf of Cr Fiona Cunningham); Aunty Christine Barney; Janette Taylor and Cheryl Boyce (Quota Carindale); Snr Constable Kylie Baker (College Adopt-a-Cop); Macy Hicks and Reilly Plowman (PCYC).
After the assembly the wreaths were placed at our Memorial Garden.
Lest we forget.
