The High School Preparation program (HSP) at Whites Hill State College is an intensive English language course which prepares students for academic success in the mainstream secondary school.
Whites Hill State College HSP is the gateway for International students on the Southside of Brisbane. Students will be taught by TESOL qualified and registered teachers with high school expertise.

Course and Curriculum
Students will undertake a fully National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) quality assured English language focused HSP course. The course is designed to facilitate English proficiency and develop study skills that enable academic success in mainstream Australian high schools. The interactive teaching style of the HSP curriculum encourages international students to practise English conversation with Australian students and teachers. It familiarises them with the subject-specific vocabulary they will encounter during their high school studies.
Students have air-conditioned classrooms, study spaces and lunchroom facilities. They are encouraged to integrate with mainstream students through shared sporting activities and cultural events.

HSP can be structured over one or two school terms of approximately ten weeks each, and includes:
A minimum of 20 hours of English language instruction per week
Small class sizes
Excursions, incursions, sporting activities and much more!
Assessment
High School Preparation assessment is designed to prepare students for the assessment structure they will encounter in high school. This approach ensures that HSP students are well-equipped with the best opportunity to achieve academic success when they continue on to their high school.
