1:1 Learning program
At Whites Hill State College we continually strive to enhance teaching and learning to provide an environment for students that is relevant to their needs. To ensure that students succeed, teachers use a variety of resources and strategies to cater to the variety of student abilities within a class. Whites Hill State College acknowledges that in the 21st century, student learners should have access to 24/7 learning in a variety of mediums. Technology and devices can facilitate 'just in time' learning as well as provide for much broader, in depth engagement with the digital world in which we live.
1:1 Learning program in Senior Secondary
Whites Hill State College currently operates a 1:1 take home laptop program for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 through College owned devices under a ‘Private Treaty’ arrangement with families.
1:1 Learning program in Junior Secondary – Bring Your Own (BYO) iPad device
Whites Hill State College offers a Bring Your Own (BYO) iPad device to all students in Junior Secondary (Years 7 to 9). This is, among other reasons, in response to the growing worldwide trend of corporate organisations and educational institutions to encourage the use of personally owned devices to increase productivity and engagement by allowing them to be connected to IT infrastructure. Further details can be found on the BYO iPad program pages.
