It is with great pleasure that I write to you as the incoming principal of Whites Hill State College. It is truly an honour to become a part of the Whites Hill family and community. Even just from my interactions with students, parents and staff over the past two weeks, I can already tell that it is a unique and special place that I am incredibly excited to become a part of.
I come to you with 18 years of experience as an educator and a school leader. I have had the privilege to work and lead in a number of state schools including other primary, high and P – 12 schools across south-east Queensland. Most recently I have served as the Assistant Executive Principal at Mansfield SHS and immediately prior to that as Principal of Browns Plains SS.
I would like to sincerely thank Mel Harth for her leadership of the college over the past last 18 months and the time she has worked with me to ensure a smooth transition. I will be working hard to get to know our whole school community, and familiarise myself with the unique needs of our school. I believe wholeheartedly that every student deserves a quality education and that only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interests of our children. With that in mind, I look forward to supporting parents and staff in working as a singular unit in order to best serve our children.
I am truly honoured to be given this opportunity and look forward to immersing myself completely in our school and in our community. I believe my main responsibility is to maintain a positive learning environment that provides all children the best possible opportunity to succeed.
I look forward to meeting all of you over time and please feel free to contact me at any stage as I am eager to listen to parent feedback and ideas for future opportunities for our college.
Kind regards
Andrew Beattie
